Malibu Mountains Spring Engagement Session | Sham + Joni

Can’t get enough of Malibu Creek State Park for photos! Sham + Joni originally wanted to do their shoot in the Angeles National Forest or along the Angeles Crest Highway. I went up to scout the area and found it wouldn’t work because of road closures, and also because it’s COLD up there! There was literally a snow bank on the edge of a turnout-parking area, so I pulled over and scooped up a handful since I didn’t get to go home to MN this year and see snow. It was awesome :)

I still wanted to give Sham + Joni a mountain-y engagement session, so I brought up Malibu Creek State Park. While this is a common location to me, they had actually never heard of it and were really impressed with the location. They can’t wait to bring their families to it when they come out and visit from the Midwest because it’s such a picturesque CA location.

This couple is so goofy and fun to be around. We were joking together the whole time. They had planned to bring Chipotle burritos to have in some of their photos as a joke, but unfortunately the restaurant messed up and gave them burrito bowls… with no silverware. But we still had a little bit of fun with the Chipotle accessories.
