Intimate, Beachfront Wedding | Inn at Laguna Beach | Emma + Mo

As a fellow curly-haired woman, I’ve always dreamt of photographing a bride who’s embracing her natural hair texture on her wedding day. And God sent me Emma.

Emma + Mo’s wedding day took place on the terrace of Inn at Laguna Beach, a gorgeous beachfront hotel. We started the afternoon with the couple’s first look on the beach where they privately read their vows (a wonderful reason to do a first look and a great alternative for people with stage fright!). After some portraits, we headed back up to the hotel to prepare for the ceremony on the terrace overlooking the ocean.

Following their gorgeous ceremony, we went to take the family portraits while the guests began cocktail hour. During this time, the staff worked to flip the terrace into the reception setup. I love dinners at intimate weddings because it feels like one big happy family dinner! They had an “open mic” for speeches, and I was surprised how many people felt the need to say something absolutely GLOWING about the couple.

I had a blast as Emma’s + Mo’s wedding photographer, and I wish them the very best as they embark on their marriage!
