Well, the cat’s outta the bag. The formerly Rebecca Maas: Photo & Film is now Becca Maas Photography, and I am so excited!

I started wedding videography back in college and decided to turn the hobby into a business in late 2017. I thought just going for photography at the same time just sounded like a good idea to help supplement the videography income.

I quickly dove head-first into wedding photography when I began doing a lot of 2nd shooting (shoutout to my girl Tyler). While pursuing both photography and videography, I often got the question, particularly from prospective clients, of which I liked more. For a couple of years, I would say that I liked them both equally for different reasons, but I think I was lying even to myself for a long time. I enjoyed videography, but I love photography.

That feeling was only solidified when I began shooting film photography in early 2020. If you know me, you probably know I’m not a very touchy-feely person at all, so it sickens me to say this, but…. it just felt so. right. And I felt like I finally really figured out what I should be doing.

While there are a multitude of smaller reasons I chose to stop offering videography, such as the vast amount of post-production work it requires giving me constant burnout, the primary reason is that it just didn’t bring me the joy that photography does. I am incredibly excited to continue this journey give photography my absolute all.
